Perfumery materials are concentrated chemicals, not cosmetics. Nothing we sell is supplied ready for use on skin, and nothing we sell is food. Please read Intended use and Safety & compliance before ordering.
These terms
These terms apply to every order placed with Veriscents through this website. Placing an order means you accept them. We may update them, and the version in force is the one published here when you place your order.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement.
Who may buy
You must be at least 18 years old to order from this site. By placing an order you confirm that you are, and that you are legally able to receive the materials you have selected in your country and region.
Some materials are restricted in some jurisdictions. It is your responsibility to know what you may lawfully import and hold where you live; we cannot advise on the law in every territory we ship to.
Intended use
We supply raw materials for fragrance creation, evaluation, teaching and research. Materials are sold in concentrated or diluted form for compounding — they are not finished products.
Unless a product page states otherwise, materials are not supplied for:
- application to skin undiluted, or in any form without appropriate safety assessment;
- ingestion, inhalation as a therapy, or any medical or veterinary purpose;
- use in food, beverages, vaping or e-liquid;
- use in any product placed on the market without the safety and regulatory work that such a product legally requires.
If you intend to sell a finished fragrance or cosmetic containing our materials, doing so lawfully is your responsibility. That normally includes a safety assessment, correct labelling including allergen declaration, and compliance with the cosmetic regulations of the market you sell into.
Safety & compliance
You are responsible for handling these materials safely and for satisfying yourself that your intended use complies with the applicable rules.
- Safety data. Where we publish a Safety Data Sheet for a material, read it before you open the bottle. Where we have not yet published one, request it from us before use.
- IFRA. Many materials carry usage restrictions under the IFRA Standards. Where we publish an IFRA Certificate of Conformity it reflects the amendment stated on the document. Compliance in your own formula, at your own concentration, for your own product category, remains your responsibility.
- Allergens. Fragrance allergen content varies by material and by lot. If you are placing a product on a market that requires allergen declaration, obtain the current allergen statement for the specific lot you used.
- Storage. Store materials cool, dark, tightly closed and away from ignition sources, out of reach of children and animals.
Analytical figures, odour descriptions, suggested working ranges and example accords published on this site are offered as guidance for formulators. They are not specifications and not a warranty of suitability for your particular purpose.
Orders & pricing
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm dispatch, not when you submit the order or receive an automated acknowledgement.
We may decline or cancel an order — refunding you in full — where an item is out of stock, where a price or description was materially wrong, where we cannot ship the material to your destination, or where we have reasonable concern about the intended use.
Prices are shown in US dollars and exclude taxes and shipping unless stated. Natural material prices in particular move with harvest and market conditions, and we may change prices without notice; the price that applies is the one shown when you place your order.
Weights and fill volumes are nominal and subject to normal tolerance. Naturals vary in colour, viscosity and odour between lots — this is a property of the materials, not a defect.
Payment
Payment is taken through a third-party payment provider. We do not receive or store your card details. Orders are dispatched once payment has cleared. For wholesale, bulk and institutional accounts, other terms may be agreed in writing.
Shipping & dangerous goods
Orders ship from the United States. Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees, and we are not liable for delays caused by carriers or customs.
Many aromatic materials and most solvents are regulated for transport as flammable liquids. This has real consequences for your order:
- Some items cannot travel by air, and some cannot be exported at all.
- Some destinations, including certain remote and international addresses, may be unavailable for particular items.
- Hazardous goods surcharges may apply, and orders may be split across shipments.
If we cannot lawfully ship an item to you, we will tell you and refund that item.
As the importer of record you are responsible for any duties, import taxes and customs charges, and for ensuring the shipment may lawfully enter your country. Refused or abandoned shipments are not eligible for refunds.
Inspect your parcel on arrival. Report damage, leakage or shortage within 7 days of delivery, with photographs, so we can resolve it with you and the carrier.
Returns & refunds
If we sent the wrong item, or an item arrived damaged or leaking, tell us within 7 days and we will replace or refund it.
Aromatic materials cannot be returned once opened. This is not a commercial preference — once a bottle of concentrated material has left our control and been opened, we cannot verify its identity, purity or contamination, and we will not resell it to another customer. Unopened items with intact factory seals may be returned within 14 days of delivery, at your cost, provided they were stored correctly.
Custom dilutions, bulk decants and made-to-order quantities are not returnable.
Equipment and packaging may be returned unused and in original condition within 30 days.
Refunds are made to the original payment method once we have received and checked the return.
Documentation
Where available we publish Safety Data Sheets, IFRA Certificates of Conformity, allergen statements and certificates of analysis against the relevant product. Documents relate to the material as supplied and to the revision stated on the document.
If you need documentation for a specific lot, or a document we have not published, contact us and we will obtain it where we can.
Intellectual property
The text, photography, odour descriptions, guides and glossary on this site are our own work and remain our property. You are welcome to use them for your own study and formulation. You may not republish them commercially without permission.
Trade names and trademarks belonging to fragrance houses and manufacturers are the property of their respective owners, and are used here only to identify materials accurately.
Liability
We are responsible for supplying materials that match their description and for the care we take in packing and dispatching them.
We are not liable for how materials are used after delivery. Because we have no control over your formulation, your handling, your storage, or the products you make, our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction — without depriving you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your own country of residence.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
