Certificates of Analysis
A Certificate of Analysis records what testing showed for a specific lot: identity, appearance, odour conformity, and the relevant physical constants or assay figures for that material.

Allergen statements
An allergen statement declares the content of the fragrance allergens that must be labelled on cosmetic products in the EU, UK and a growing number of other markets. It is a separate obligation from IFRA: IFRA restricts how much you may use, allergen labelling governs what you must declare.

Allergen content varies by lot, particularly in naturals. A statement for one lot of bergamot does not describe the next. If you are compiling a Cosmetic Product Safety Report, use the statement issued for the lot you actually formulated with.
Published specifications
Every material in the catalogue carries specification data on its own page, which is often enough to answer a question without needing a document at all. Where we hold it, we publish:
- CAS number, chemical name and synonyms
- Odour description, note behaviour, strength and substantivity
- Suggested working range and evaluation dilution
- Appearance, solubility, flash point and shelf life
- Storage guidance and manufacturer or origin
- Useful pairings and example accords
Odour descriptions, working ranges and example accords are formulator's guidance, not a specification, and are not a warranty of suitability for a particular purpose. The figures that constitute a specification are the analytical ones, and those come from the lot document.
Why lot matters
Synthetic aroma chemicals are generally consistent between lots. Naturals are not — an essential oil is an agricultural product, and colour, viscosity, constituent profile and odour shift with harvest, origin and season. That variation is a property of the material rather than a defect, and it is the reason certificates are issued per lot rather than per product.
