Our commitment
We want anyone who works with fragrance materials to be able to use this site — to read a material's odour profile, compare two aroma chemicals, follow a dilution guide and place an order — regardless of how they browse.
We would rather tell you plainly where we currently fall short than publish a confident claim we cannot back up. What follows is an honest account, including the parts that are not right yet.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for improving accessibility for people with disabilities, at three levels: A, AA and AAA.
This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. “Partially conformant” means most of the standard is met, but some parts are not. The specific gaps are listed under Known limitations.
What we have done
- Semantic structure. Pages use real headings, lists, tables and landmarks
rather than styled
divs, so screen readers can navigate by structure. - Keyboard access. Every interactive control can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, and a visible focus outline follows you as you move.
- Labelled forms. Every field on the contact and checkout forms has a real label tied to its input. Validation errors are described in text next to the field they concern, not by colour alone.
- Descriptive links. Links describe where they lead, so they still make sense when read out of context in a list of links.
- Meaningful alternatives. Product images carry text alternatives, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology so they do not add noise.
- Skip link. A “Skip to content” link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches, so the navigation does not have to be tabbed through on every page.
- Responsive and zoomable. Layouts reflow to 320px and tolerate text zoom to 200% without loss of content.
- Not colour alone. Status, errors and availability are conveyed with text as well as colour.
Known limitations
We are aware of the following, and are working on them:

If something here affects you and is not listed, we would genuinely like to know. A specific report from someone who hit the problem is worth more to us than another audit.
Compatibility
This site is designed to work with recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, used with or without a screen reader. It is not tested against browsers more than a few years old.
It does not require JavaScript to read content, browse the catalogue or submit the contact form. Some conveniences — the mobile navigation drawer and the live glossary filter — do use JavaScript, and the underlying content remains reachable without it.
Technical specification
Accessibility relies on the following technologies working with your browser and any assistive technology you use: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Where WAI-ARIA is used, it supplements native HTML semantics rather than replacing them.
How we assessed this
This statement is based on our own review rather than a third-party audit. That review included checking colour contrast ratios against the WCAG AA thresholds, keyboard-only navigation of the main journeys, inspection of page structure and form labelling, and testing layout reflow at small widths.
We have not commissioned an independent accessibility audit, and we do not claim one. When we do, we will say so here and update the conformance status accordingly.
